Hard Surfacing Arc Welding Electrodes

CH-88

JIS DFCrA-S

DescriptionG

CH-88 is high chrome cast iron electrode. Its weld metal has martens tic structure and dispersed chrome carbide. It is suitable for erosive abrasion. Machining is not available.

ApplicationG

Hard surfacing of pump impellers, sand blasts, conveyor screws and mixer blades, etc.

Instructions for welding :

  1. Preheat at more than 200J is required.

  2. Postheat at 550 ~ 600J after welding and cool gradually to avoid cracking, if possible.

  3. Under lay with austenitic stainless electrodes to avoid cracking in the case of multi-layer welding of 13% manganese steel and hardenable steel.

  4. It is effective with 1 or 2 layer surfacing.

  5. Dry the electrodes at 80 ~ 120J for 30 ~ 60 minutes before use.
